Assistant Project Manager- Job Description

 

Job Summary          

The Assistant Project Manager is a critical member of the Big Sky project team, working closely with, and supporting the Project Manager throughout each project from project conception/proposal development through project closeout. The APM reports to the Project Manager.

 

Essential Functions          

  • Assume responsibility for the management of project documents including, but not limited to construction documents, correspondence, and communications;
  • Support the Project Manager in meetings with clients and other project stakeholders to discuss project scope, progress and changes;
  • Support the Project Manager in coordination with Superintendents and on-site resources, to ensure safety, progress and quality of work;
  • Support the Project Manager in the creation and maintenance of the project schedule;
  • Assume responsibility for processing of subcontractor and vendor submittals;
  • Assume responsibility for photography and documentation of project progress;
  • Support the Project Manager in the preparation of bid documents, the soliciting of bids, meetings with, and selection of subcontractors;
  • Support the Project Manager in the preparation of contract documents, including subcontracts, change orders, applications for payment, etc;
  • Attend and document project meetings with field personnel;
  • Any other duties delegated by executive management.

Education/Experience

  • 4-year degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering. (Preferred)
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant design and/or construction project experience.

 

 

­Superintendent – Job Description

Job Summary           

The Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes coordinating workers, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, maintaining the highest level of quality, administering good construction safety practices keeping the project on schedule and within budget.  Reports to the Project Manager.

 

Essential Functions  

  • Coordinate and supervise all construction activities;
  • Maintain construction schedule, identifies and solves problems;
  • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to the original plans and specifications;
  • Order materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the project;
  • Understand the project plans and specifications and effectively communicate with the various field personnel;
  • Laying out various structures pertaining to the project plans;
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, inspectors, architects, engineers, and other employees;
  • Promote job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately;
  • Maintain an organized and clean job site;
  • Produce daily construction reports;
  • Project development coordination;
  • Any other duties delegated by executive management.

Education/Experience

  • 4-year degree preferred, but not required, with concentration in construction management.
  • 7 years of experience assisting or supervising construction projects, both site and building, of increasing complexity on projects of $10 million dollars or more.
  • Experienced in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control and production of all phases of commercial construction.
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects.
